In Jesus’ conversation with Nicodemus, we discover that new spiritual life comes only through the work of the Holy Spirit. Born into sin, each of us stands in need of a Savior—and it is through the transforming grace of the Spirit that we are set free from the chains of sin. Jesus reveals that the Spirit’s work of regeneration is sovereign, like the wind—unseen, unpredictable, and full of mystery.
